For Day 10, we revisit Episode Ten of Unscripted with SST, where Beau Elston joined us to clarify a topic many businesses overlook: Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery. In the episode, we emphasized that BCDR is not just about having backups. It’s about keeping the business operational, minimizing disruption, and ensuring people know exactly what to do during an outage, a cyberattack, or a major system failure.

We clarified that continuity and recovery are the business’s responsibilities, not just IT tasks. RTO and RPO were explained simply: how quickly systems must come back online and how much data you can afford to lose. The discussion also covered what distinguishes a backup that exists from one that is actually reliable.

We reminded viewers that cloud services and SaaS platforms do not cover every scenario. Businesses still need their own recovery plans and data protection.
